"The irony of 'soft skills' is that they're often the hardest to master. Leadership, communication, and resilience may not be technical, but they're increasingly vital."
SystemWork.org brings to Asia a set of models and experiences of leadership development, gathered from around the world, specifically from the fields of Organizational Development (OD), Systems Thinking, Gestalt psychology, and coaching.
The design of our courses is experiential, as a result of iterative assimilation of awareness-based leadership practices from around the globe, particularly the United States 🇺🇸, United Kingdom 🇬🇧, and Singapore 🇸🇬. Fellow practitioners from Germany 🇩🇪, Netherlands 🇳🇱, Hungary ðŸ‡ðŸ‡º, and South Africa 🇿🇦 have also participated in reiterating our offering.
We brought System Work to Indonesia 🇮🇩 in 2021.
An invitation for you
I essentially accepted the invitation, along with nurses, parents, entrepreneurs, teachers, lawyers, homemakers, students, and all the previous participants.
There is risk in what I and they did. We got in touch with our beliefs, assessments, and narratives; and then named them to let them surface. We did it with other participants – strangers or not, who were also exploring their inner self.
To make such an earnest exploration is itself an act of bravery. I know how difficult it is to do self work, because I have tried it. Like most of the participants, self work will continue as a personal leadership exercise after the program ends. But I believe the exercise is important. The attempt alone has value.
At its heart, this program is an invitation to make the attempt yourself – to look within before you lead others. Thus, this is my invitation to you.
Sincerely, Mulyadi Oey System Work facilitator
